Job: Senior Construction Project Manager
Location: Lenexa, KS

We're looking for a Senior Construction Project Managerto join our I-Solutions team. This construction leadership role is responsible for managing multiple project teams and ensuring successful financial, operational, and risk outcomes. You'll partner with field teams, lead client relationships, oversee schedules and budgets, develop staff, support new business pursuits, and promote the highest standards of quality and safety.
What You'll Do
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment, resolving high-level concerns, and fostering a collaborative project environment.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring cost, schedule, safety, and quality objectives are achieved.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including revenue forecasting, monthly earnings reports, cost control, profitability, pay applications, subcontractor and supplier billings, and cash flow.
  • Oversee project schedules and design team partnerships to ensure timely coordination, scope alignment, contract compliance, and commissioning and qualification requirements.
  • Monitor performance against target schedules and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Supervise and develop project engineers, assistant project managers, project managers, project coordinators, administrative staff, and interns, as assigned.
  • Evaluate team performance and workloads, partnering with senior leadership to identify staffing needs and allocate resources effectively.
  • Conduct jobsite visits to assess safety, schedule, and quality compliance while managing risks related to scope, budget, project partners, and internal resources.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to identify new clients and project opportunities, strengthen legacy account relationships, support repeat business, and forecast future annual budgets.
  • Partner with estimating and marketing teams to prepare technical proposals, conduct site visits, develop pricing and staffing plans, solicit subcontractor pricing, and participate in owner negotiations.
  • Review and interpret contract documents, identify scope gaps, submit requests for information, and ensure all parties understand project requirements.
  • Ensure project teams maintain organized records and complete closeout and warranty processes in accordance with company standards and client expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field and at least 10 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous construction industry experience.
  • Experience supervising and developing staff with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Detailed understanding of project accounting, financial reporting, and profit-and-loss statements.
  • Strong project scheduling experience.
  • Estimating and buyout experience.
  • Proven success serving as a lead client contact.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead complex discussions and drive informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead effectively while contributing as a collaborative team member.
  • Deep understanding of contract terms, project risk, and financial reporting.
  • Strong time-management and delegation skills, with the ability to oversee multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software.
  • Ability to cultivate client relationships and develop a network that supports future project opportunities.
  • Collaborative approach to working with superintendents, project managers, architects, and engineers.
  • Emotional intelligence and the ability to adapt your communication style to maintain collaboration, trust, team morale, and productive working relationships.
  • Ability to mentor others through interpersonal and team challenges.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
  • Ability to work in environments with noise levels typical of active construction sites.
  • Ability to use required safety equipment and personal protective equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and an insurable driving record that meets the company's insurance requirements for operating or renting vehicles for business purposes.
Travel
  • Some travel may be required on an as-needed basis.
