Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. At Joby, we've been working to make that dream a reality since 2009 and we're now in the final stages of certifying our aircraft with the FAA. With plans to launch our aircraft in the US and Dubai, we're now scaling manufacturing and preparing for the launch of our commercial service.
Perform aircraft noise predictions and community noise assessment using acoustic propagation software.Â
- Conduct acoustic simulations using tools such as Advanced Acoustic Model, Aviation Environmental Design Tool, and SoundPLANÂ
- Perform aircraft acoustic analyses to compare noise sourcesÂ
- Develop software framework and data pipeline for acoustic evaluation of new locationsÂ
- Verification and presentation of predictions to guide future operationsÂ
- Develop documentation and presentations to document acoustic impacts for specific infrastructure locationsÂ
- Graduate student in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering Â
- Experience with computational aeroacoustics and sound propagation modelingÂ
- Ability to work in groups and individuallyÂ
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with stakeholders across a wide range of technical disciplinesÂ

The pay range for undergraduate interns, which includes freshman to senior level students, is $22-$31/hr. The pay range for graduate interns with a Bachelor, Master, and/or Ph.D. degree is $5,550-$7,800/month. Individual pay is determined by internship role, department, experience, job-related skills, and level of education.Â
