Position: Assistant Buyer
Location: Bloomington, MN Hybrid

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Assistant Buyer will assist the Lead Merchant in all facets of the purchasing process. Utilizing product and industry knowledge, the Assistant Buyer will aid in the development of assortment strategies and provide recommendations for product selection. The individual will also work closely with Marketing and Creative teams to ensure products are effectively merchandised and marketed on all channels. This position reports directly to the Lead Merchant.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Maximizes sales of each item online through effective product presentation and accurate advertising content. Manages promotional pricing and discontinued product cadence for all brands.
  • Monitors competitor's pricing, content, promotions and assortment through internet, direct mail and store visit research. Communicates recommendations to ensure products are priced and promoted to meet established objectives.
  • Collaborates on Owned Brand product development.
  • Partners with Inventory Analyst to identify slow turning items and aged inventory. Identifies and creates appropriate action plans managing sell through to maximize margin rates while attaining inventory goals.
  • Implements strategic category direction through assortment, marketing recommendations, promotional planning, and content for all sales channels. Collaborates on internal marketing plans including homepage features, email, and SMS.
  • Based on performance and experience, may manage specific category purchasing.
  • Performs related work as required or assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in merchandising, marketing, business administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in merchandising, buying, inventory management or product development preferred.
  • Knowledge of sports or golf products and industry a plus.
  • Results driven and resourceful with strong creative thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven history of collaboration across multiple departments.
  • Strong organizational skills. Able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Computer skills, including Word and Excel.
  • Domestic travel up to 5% may be required.

Salary Range: $40,000 - $60,000
