Internet Salesperson - Kearny Mesa Chevrolet

Job Summary:

The Dealership Internet Salesperson is responsible for handling online leads and inquiries, managing the dealership’s digital presence, and converting online interactions into sales opportunities. This role involves engaging with potential customers through digital channels, providing information about vehicles, and guiding them through the online buying process to achieve sales goals and enhance customer satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

  • Respond promptly to online leads and inquiries via email, chat, or social media platforms.
  • Qualify and follow up with potential customers to assess their needs and interests in vehicles.
  • Schedule and conduct virtual or in-person appointments with prospects to discuss vehicle options and provide test drives.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers through digital communication channels.
  • Provide detailed information about vehicle features, pricing, promotions, and financing options.
  • Assist customers with the online application process and address any questions or concerns they may have.
  • Guide customers through the entire online sales process, from initial contact to closing the sale.
  • Prepare and present digital vehicle quotes and financing proposals.
  • Coordinate with the dealership’s sales team to ensure a smooth transition from online interactions to in-store visits.
  • Manage and update the dealership’s website, including vehicle listings, promotions, and content.
  • Utilize social media and other online platforms to promote dealership inventory and special offers.
  • Monitor and analyze digital marketing efforts to identify opportunities for improvement and increase online visibility
  • .Provide exceptional customer service throughout the online buying process and after the sale.
  • Follow up with customers post-purchase to ensure satisfaction and address any issues or additional needs.
  • Offer test drives to all prospects. Follow dealership procedures to obtain proper
  • identification from customers prior to test drive.
  • Collect and manage customer feedback to improve the online sales process and enhance customer experience.
  • Track and report on online lead activity, sales performance, and conversion rates.
  • Maintain accurate records of online interactions, customer information, and sales transactions.
  • Collaborate with management to set and achieve sales targets and goals.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, digital sales strategies, and new technologies related to online sales.
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in digital sales and customer service.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in automotive sales or a related sales environment.
  • Previous experience in internet sales or digital marketing.
  • Valid state sales license.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record; required to have California driver's license within 30 days following date of hire.
  • At least one year of verifiable driving experience.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Ability to perform all essential functions of the job description.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (SEO, SEM, social media).
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong understanding of the sales process, particularly in an online context.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, team members, and management.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and metrics to drive performance improvements.
  • Familiarity with reporting tools and performance dashboards.
  • Strong customer service skills with a focus on creating a positive customer experience.
  • Experience in leading or managing a team is a plus.
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members to achieve sales goals.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
