Job description

Manages all activities for a specific region or customer segment including the implementation of the Sales Department objectives and sales processes for complete goods. Responsible for all sales metrics for a specific region or segment. Attracts, retains, and effectively coaches division personnel. Ideal candidate location would be based in the Cleveland/Akron MSA area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manages and coaches sales professionals in a specific region or customer segment
  • Creates development plans for direct reports which includes identifying training needs
  • Ensures sales metrics and goals are met for a specific region or customer segment
  • Ensures that a consistent sales process is followed for their region or customer segment
  • Ensures the sales document process is established and followed by sales team members for their region or customer segment
  • Provides input to the Marketing Manager in the development of the whole goods marketing strategy for their region or customer segment
  • Works with other Division Sales Managers to identify and execute best practices
  • Works with Corporate Service and Corporate Parts Managers to promote customer satisfaction
  • Manages budgets for a specific region or customer segment, in alignment with the organization's financial and operational objectives
  • Manages recruiting, staffing and employee development activities for direct reports
  • Manages sales department equipment including vehicles and sales office equipment
  • May develop and implement incentives plans for sales team and customers
  • May assist with creating the Sales Department business plan
  • May oversee used and new whole goods inventory levels and metrics
  • And other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • 3+ years sales experience, 1+ years sales management experience
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
  • Proven managerial ability including leading, coaching, and developing others
  • Ability to define and implement sales processes
  • Ability to use Deere sales computer applications and tools
  • Ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Ability to analyze and interpret internal reports
  • Ability to write and speak effectively to individuals and groups
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in business or marketing or equivalent experience
