Job description

Job Title: IT Engineer - Network Administrator Type: Contract Work Model: Remote – offsite

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain organization's network infrastructure ensuring security, performance, and reliability
  • Configure, upgrade, patch, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls
  • Convert layer 4 rules to layer 7 using userID and appID
  • Create custom appID’s for network security policies
  • Manage Checkpoint firewalls in an IaaS environment (preferred)
  • Deploy Palo Alto firewalls in an IaaS environment (preferred)
  • Leverage python scripts to automate network tasks (preferred)
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues as needed
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience managing Palo Alto firewalls
  • Knowledge of converting rules from layer 4 to layer 7 using userID and appID
  • Experience creating custom appID’s
  • Proven experience managing Palo Alto infrastructure including upgrades and configuration
  • Preferred: Experience managing Checkpoint firewalls in an IaaS environment
  • Preferred: Deployment experience with Palo Alto firewalls in an IaaS environment
  • Ability to leverage Python scripts for automation
  • Understanding of networking protocols, devices, firewalls, routers, VPNs, and network monitoring tools
