What is international relocation?

International relocation refers to the process of moving from one country to another for work, personal, or family reasons. It typically involves organizing visas, shipping personal belongings, finding housing, adjusting to a new culture, and sometimes learning a new language. Companies often support employees through international relocation services, which can include immigration assistance, home search, and settling-in services. The process can be complex and requires careful planning to ensure a smooth transition.

What are international relocation jobs?

International relocation jobs are offered by companies that have offices overseas. When they have trouble finding local talent in another country or if there is an employee in the U.S. they would like to work in a particular office abroad, the company may relocate the employee. Almost any position can become an international assignment, but due to visa regulations, the jobs offered tend to be highly-skilled private or public sector roles. Your international appointment may include a relocation package, which consists of a stipend to cover moving costs, temporary housing, help finding schools for your family, aid in setting up the necessary paperwork and financial accounts, and access to a relocation service to simplify the process. Your responsibilities typically remain the same as they are in the U.S., but you work with a new team in your assigned office.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in international relocation roles, and why are they important?

To thrive in International Relocation, you need strong knowledge of global mobility processes, immigration regulations, and logistics management, often supported by experience in relocation services or HR. Familiarity with relocation management software, visa application platforms, and global tax compliance systems is typically required. Excellent intercultural communication, problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills set top professionals apart in this field. These competencies are crucial for ensuring a smooth transition for clients, minimizing compliance risks, and delivering efficient, stress-free relocation experiences.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in international relocation, and how can they be managed?

Professionals in international relocation often encounter challenges such as navigating complex immigration regulations, coordinating logistics across time zones, and handling the emotional aspects of clients moving abroad. To manage these, it’s important to stay updated on changing visa requirements, build strong relationships with global partners, and develop excellent organizational skills. Additionally, frequent communication with clients helps set realistic expectations and provides reassurance throughout the moving process. Teamwork and adaptability are key to ensuring smooth transitions for clients and minimizing potential setbacks.

What is the difference between International Relocation vs International Moving Coordinator?

AspectInternational RelocationInternational Moving Coordinator
CredentialsRelocation certifications, logistics knowledgeLogistics, customer service, relocation certifications
Work EnvironmentCorporate, relocation agencies, HR departmentsMoving companies, logistics firms, relocation services
Industry UsageUsed broadly in corporate and individual relocationsSpecific to coordinating moving processes internationally

International Relocation involves managing the entire process of moving employees or individuals abroad, including logistics, housing, and legal requirements. An International Moving Coordinator focuses specifically on organizing and executing international moves, handling logistics, documentation, and customer communication. While both roles require logistics expertise and coordination skills, International Relocation has a broader scope, often within corporate HR, whereas the Moving Coordinator is more operationally focused on the move itself.

Job description

Orthodontist - $1,500/Day + $100 Per Start
Reno, Nevada | 2-3 Days/Week to Start | Path to 4+ Days | Relocation Assistance
Out-of-State Orthodontists Encouraged to Apply
Looking for an orthodontic opportunity with immediate patient demand, a built-in pediatric referral network, and a clear path toward a larger clinical schedule?
Our confidential, 100% dentist-owned private dental group is seeking an Orthodontist to join a growing orthodontic program in Reno, Nevada.
This is much more than a few supplemental days.
We are actively growing our Reno pediatric dentistry program and expect to build the orthodontic schedule alongside it-starting with 2-3 clinical days per week and targeting approximately 4 days per week within the next nine months.
You'll also have opportunities to provide orthodontic care at satellite locations throughout the region.
Confirmed Compensation
$1,500 Per Clinical Day + $100 Per New Orthodontic Start
  • $1,500 guaranteed per clinical day
  • Plus $100 for every new orthodontic start
  • 2-3 clinical days per week to start
  • Expected growth toward approximately 4 days per week within nine months
  • Established internal referral network
  • Growing Pediatric Dentistry program
  • 1099 Independent Contractor relationship
  • Relocation assistance available

This is an opportunity to earn immediately while helping build what we believe can become one of the strongest orthodontic programs in the Reno market.
A Growing Orthodontic Platform - Not a Static Part-Time Job
Our vision is straightforward:
As our Pediatric Dentistry program grows, our Orthodontic program grows with it.
We're building an increasingly integrated pediatric and orthodontic model that creates a natural internal pipeline of families, consultations, and orthodontic starts.
Initial Schedule
Begin with approximately 2-3 days per week in the Reno market.
Next 9 Months
Our goal is to grow the core pediatric office-based orthodontic program to approximately:
4 clinical days per week
Satellite Opportunities
In addition to the primary Reno schedule:
  • Approximately 2 satellite days per month at our South Reno location
  • Potential to eventually add 1-2 days per month at our South Lake Tahoe location
  • Additional clinical days may be added as patient demand continues to grow

For the right Orthodontist, there is significant runway here.
Built Around a Growing Pediatric Referral Engine
One of the biggest advantages of this opportunity is where the orthodontic patients come from.
We are actively growing our Pediatric Dentistry program in Reno, creating an increasingly strong internal pipeline for:
  • Orthodontic screenings
  • Early orthodontic intervention
  • Comprehensive orthodontic consultations
  • New starts
  • Sibling and family referrals
  • Long-term patient relationships

That is supplemented by referrals from our General Dentistry network.
Instead of asking an Orthodontist to arrive in a new market and develop referral relationships from scratch, we're building the infrastructure and patient base around you.
Why Reno - And Why Now?
Reno is a compelling market for an Orthodontist looking for both professional opportunity and quality of life.
Northern Nevada continues to grow, while the orthodontic market offers an opportunity to establish yourself without the density of specialists found in many major Western metros.
You'll have access to:
  • A growing Reno/Sparks population
  • Expanding families and communities
  • Strong demand for dental and specialty services
  • Less saturated competition than many major Western markets
  • A growing Pediatric Dentistry referral base
  • No Nevada state individual income tax
  • Lake Tahoe approximately an hour away
  • World-class skiing and snowboarding
  • Hiking, mountain biking, boating and golf
  • Four seasons and year-round outdoor recreation
  • Reno-Tahoe International Airport
  • Convenient access to Northern California

For an Orthodontist coming from California or another highly competitive Western market, Reno provides the opportunity to build something meaningful without giving up access to the lifestyle that makes the West special.
Out-of-State Orthodontists: We Want to Hear From You
Relocation Assistance Is Available
You do not need to currently live in Nevada to be considered.
We strongly encourage inquiries from Orthodontists throughout:
  • California
  • Oregon
  • Washington
  • Arizona
  • Utah
  • Colorado
  • Idaho
  • The broader Western United States

If Reno is somewhere you've considered-or if you've never seriously looked at Northern Nevada-we'd welcome the opportunity to introduce you to the market.
Candidates who do not currently hold a Nevada dental license are encouraged to apply if eligible for licensure.
Dentist-Owned. Dentist-Led.
Our organization is 100% dentist-owned.
That means:
  • No private equity ownership
  • No outside investors dictating clinical care
  • Provider-focused leadership
  • Collaborative decision-making
  • Long-term commitment to patient care
  • An organization willing to invest in growing the specialty program around the right doctor

We want our Orthodontist to become an important part of the long-term growth of the organization.
Modern, Supported Clinical Environment
You'll step into an established dental platform with:
  • Experienced clinical support
  • Digital workflows
  • Established patient scheduling systems
  • Treatment coordination support
  • Existing Pediatric and General Dentistry referrals
  • Administrative infrastructure
  • Strong patient communication systems
  • An organization actively investing in specialty growth

You focus on diagnosing, treatment planning, patient relationships, and delivering excellent orthodontic care.
We'll focus on helping fill the schedule.
• Qualifications
  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
  • Completion of an accredited Orthodontic residency program
  • Active Nevada dental license or ability to obtain one
  • Excellent patient and parent communication skills
  • Collaborative approach to working with Pediatric Dentists and General Dentists
  • Commitment to clinical excellence and patient experience
