Job description

As Torrid's Transportation Manager, you will lead Torrid’s U.S. inbound and outbound transportation operations, overseeing the movement of product from domestic and international vendors through the distribution center and ultimately to stores and eCommerce customers. This role is responsible for optimizing service, cost, capacity, and carrier performance while ensuring shipments meet business needs and established SLAs. Partnering cross-functionally with Distribution, Stores, Finance, Procurement, Merchandising, Compliance, and other key teams, the Transportation Manager will drive continuous improvement across Torrid’s transportation network while building strong relationships with internal teams and external logistics partners.

What You’ll Do: 

  • Manage day-to-day outbound transportation operations, ensuring service levels, cost targets, and carrier SLAs are achieved. 
  • Develop and monitor key transportation metrics and reporting to evaluate service, cost, efficiency, and overall network performance.
  • Proactively identify operational risks, performance gaps, and opportunities to improve service, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Plan and execute transportation and logistics programs supporting Torrid’s eCommerce and Retail businesses.
  • Manage relationships and contracts with parcel carriers, 3PLs, and logistics partners, including business reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with the Director of Logistics and Distribution Center leadership to optimize transportation operations, processes, and DC integration.
  • Partner with Torrid’s third-party freight payment and audit provider to ensure transportation spend is accurate and effectively managed.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual business reviews, providing performance insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Stay current on U.S. and global transportation industry trends, events, and developments that may impact the business.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports and other associates through training, feedback, and development opportunities.

What You’ll Need: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Transportation, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • 5–7+ years of progressive experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting retail and eCommerce fulfillment operations.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale parcel networks, carrier relationships, and transportation contracts.
  • Strong experience conducting cost-benefit analysis and identifying opportunities to improve service and reduce transportation costs.
