Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage assigned trade compliance workstreams and compliance initiatives.
  • Conduct complex analyses involving tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin, trade agreement qualification, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate compliance risks and provide recommendations to support informed business decisions.
  • Review and approve trade compliance data, documentation, and customs processes within assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Lead post-entry activities, including corrections, reconciliations, protests, refunds, disclosures, and duty optimization opportunities.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customs brokers, government agencies, and business stakeholders on complex trade compliance matters.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess operational impacts, providing recommendations and implementation guidance.
  • Advise Supply Chain, Procurement, Sourcing, Manufacturing, Logistics, Finance, and Legal teams on trade compliance requirements affecting sourcing strategies, product changes, and business initiatives.
  • Support and coordinate internal audits, broker audits, and internal compliance assessments; identify compliance gaps, develop corrective action plans, and monitor remediation activities.

  • Develop, update, and maintain procedures, work instructions, compliance documentation, and training materials, while providing training and guidance to team members as appropriate.
  • Analyze trade data, metrics, and trends to identify compliance risks, operational issues, and cost-saving opportunities, and prepare findings and recommendations for management.
  • Support tariff mitigation, trade remedy, and strategic trade compliance initiatives.
  • Exercise independent judgment in resolving routine-to-complex trade compliance issues and escalating significant risks when necessary.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, International Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in import/export operations, customs compliance, logistics, supply chain, or trade compliance.
  • Advanced knowledge of import/export compliance requirements, customs regulations, and international trade programs.
  • Ability to independently analyze complex trade compliance issues and develop practical, risk-based solutions.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, freight providers, government agencies, and other external business partners.
  • Working knowledge of duty savings programs, tariff mitigation strategies, customs valuation, and post-entry processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Access; experience with ERP, trade management, or customs systems preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic and evolving environment.
  • Ability to travel both domestically and internationally, when necessary.
