Job description

Product Designer

Schedule: Full-time

Location: Chicago, IL / Hybrid (3 days a week in office)

Who we are:

Troscriptions is a cutting-edge health and life sciences company dedicated to helping people optimize their physiology through precision-dosed, physician-formulated products. Our products are designed to support cognitive performance, stress resilience, sleep quality, energy, and overall well-being. Troscriptions is also a two-time Inc. 5000 honoree, and we're one of the fastest-growing private companies in America. Troscriptions integrates scientific rigor with a mission-driven culture, serving as the primary funder of Health Optimization Medicine and Practice (homehope.org), a nonprofit that educates physicians and practitioners worldwide on the foundational principles of health optimization. Together, these companies are democratizing access to practical, high-impact tools and frameworks that empower individuals to perform, feel, and live better.

Our culture is built on five values: Curiosity. Communication. Non-reciprocal altruism. Agility. Conscientiousness. If these words feel like oxygen to you, keep reading.

The Role:

We're hiring a Product Designer to shape how people experience Troscriptions -- across our website, packaging touchpoints, online portal, and marketing ecosystem.

This role goes beyond wireframes and screens: we're looking for someone with a genuinely diverse design background who can move fluidly between UI/UX, visual design, and brand expression. Experience with branding is a strong bonus.

Your work will impact two lines of business: a B2B platform that serves health practitioners and a direct-to-consumer brand. On the practitioner side, you'll streamline the tools clinicians rely on to communicate with patients, make recommendations, and fulfill orders. On the consumer side, you'll have the opportunity to build a 0-to-1 product across our website, packaging, and marketing ecosystem.

This is an entrepreneurial, high-autonomy role. You'll be given ambiguous problems to solve and real ownership over shaping the product direction. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, are evidence-driven, self-motivated, and bring innovative solutions to the table. Minimal handholding. Maximum trust.

Compensation: $90,000 to $125,000 base (commensurate with experience), plus performance bonuses and potential stock options

Benefits:

  • Health insurance: medical, dental, vision
  • 401(k)
  • Potential stock options
  • Free access to the international Health Optimization Medicine and Practice practitioner curriculum
  • Mission-driven, fast-growth environment with real creative ownership
  • Additional wellness perks

To Apply: Portfolio and cover letter required with submission. Applications without both will not be considered.

What You'll Do:

  • Design intuitive, conversion-focused experiences across our website and digital touchpoints
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation from concept to production
  • Partner with engineering to ensure designs are implemented faithfully and functionally
  • Use insights about our current and future users from qualitative and quantitative research to improve experiences
  • Formulate and test hypotheses through thoughtful A/B testing and growth experiments through innovative design solutions
  • Optimize the conversion funnel to influence the growth strategy
  • Design and execute user research to inform product decisions
  • Communicate conceptual ideas, design rationale, and user-centered design process within a cross-functional team.

Visual Design & Branding

  • Bring a strong visual design sensibility to campaigns, packaging, social content, and marketing assets
  • Create, evolve, and maintain brand identity and visual consistency across all channels
  • Contribute to brand systems, style guides, and design standards as the company scales

Ownership & Execution

  • Take ambiguous briefs and turn them into polished, on-brand deliverables with minimal oversight
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously across product, marketing, and brand
  • Proactively identify design opportunities and bring ideas directly to leadership

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, Product, and Leadership to align design with business goals
  • Present design concepts and rationale clearly to stakeholders
  • Stay current on design trends, tools, and best practices in UI/UX and branding

Required Skills:

  • A diverse portfolio demonstrating strength across product design, visual design, and branding
  • 3-6+ years of professional design experience
  • Proficiency in modern design tools (Figma required; Adobe Creative Suite a plus)
  • Strong understanding of UX principles, responsive design, and design systems
  • Entrepreneurial mindset - comfortable operating independently and driving projects forward
  • Excellent visual and verbal communication skills

Preferred:

  • Experience building or evolving a brand identity from the ground up
  • Background in consumer health, wellness, or e-commerce brands
  • Experience working at an early-stage or fast-growth startup
  • Curiosity in the use of AI tools to increase discovery and efficiency in the design process
  • Basic front-end knowledge (HTML/CSS) for closer collaboration with Engineering

We look forward to receiving your portfolio, cover letter, and resume if you're a designer who wants real creative ownership -- the chance to shape how people experience Troscriptions, and to help build a brand from a position of genuine influence and trust.
