The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center network is one of the largest integrated cancer networks in the United States with more than 60 locations throughout Pennsylvania including 24 radiation oncology centers in the United States, and five centers in Europe.With our team of dedicated clinicians and medical physicists, standardized processes, state-of-the-art equipment, and an integrated IT platform, the UPMC network is a national leader in scaling world class care to radiation oncology patients close to their homes.

Purpose:

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is currently hiring for a Clinical Medical Physicist at our UPMC/John P. Murtha Regional Cancer Center in Johnstown, PA, which offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced physicist to join a leading medical physics division. Here's a breakdown of the key points:

Position Summary:

  • Location: UPMC/John P. Murtha Regional Cancer Center, Johnstown, PA.
    • This position will work between Johnstown. PA and our Indiana, PA office
  • Responsibilities: The physicist will primarily focus on quality assurance testing, dosimetry calibration of radiation therapy equipment, implementation of advanced radiation therapy techniques such as SBRT, VMAT, IMRT, IGRT with CBCT/OBI, 4D CT, and organ motion management.
  • Equipment: The center is well-equipped with Varian 23EX and TrueBeam machines, Eclipse RTP with Aria R&V system, Philips and GE CT units, PET/CT simulators, Gamma Knife units, RefleXion X1, and more.
  • Collaboration: The physicist will closely collaborate with another physicist to support two sites with SBRT capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Education: M.S. or Ph.D. Degree in Physics or Medical Physics.
  • Certification: ABR/ABMP Certification in Therapeutic Radiological Physics or Therapeutic Radiology.
  • Experience: At least three years of clinical experience preferred, with demonstrated skills in SBRT, VMAT, IMRT, IGRT with CBCT/OBI, 4D CT, and organ motion management.
  • Other: Board eligibility is acceptable.
