Position Description
The Admissions Specialist serves as a population-specific enrollment professional responsible for recruitment, outreach, advising, and application review for an assigned student segment. Distinct from a generalist Admissions Counselor, the Specialist develops deep expertise in a defined enrollment population, executes targeted recruitment strategies, and contributes meaningfully to institutional enrollment goals, yield strategy, and student success priorities.
This role operates in close coordination with the Senior Director of Transfer and International Admissions and supports the Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing through disciplined funnel management, high-touch student engagement, and data-informed recruitment practices.
The Admissions Specialist is a student-facing enrollment professional responsible for recruiting prospective students, advising families, supporting campus visit programming, and reviewing applications for an assigned territory or market. In alignment with the four Admissions Specialist roles (Traditional Undergraduate, Transfer & Veterans, International, or Graduate), this Specialist is assigned to a primary population focus of International while maintaining the shared core expectations of territory management, outreach/event execution, application evaluation, CRM discipline, and partnership with Financial Aid and campus stakeholders.
This is an in-person, on-campus, non-remote position.
Reporting To: Assistant/Director of Admissions or Senior Director of Admissions
Division: Enrollment & Marketing
Job Responsibilities
  • Manage recruitment and admissions for international undergraduate and pathway applicants.
  • Review international credentials, including transcripts, academic documents, and English proficiency, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a liaison to international counselors, agents, and educational partners.
  • Support SEVIS-related processes in coordination with campus partners (as appropriate to role scope).
  • Conduct virtual recruitment presentations, webinars, and international outreach events.
  • Guide students and families through visa, enrollment, and transition questions with accuracy and cultural sensitivity.
  • Execute targeted international yield strategies and contribute to geographic diversification goals.
  • Maintain CRM data integrity to support forecasting and international recruitment evaluation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree required, master's degree preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent writing, and public speaking abilities
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships in a competitive environment
  • Enthusiastic personality, strong problem-solving skills, and attention to detail
  • Valid passport and driver's license as required to travel local, domestic and international
  • Available to work weekends and evenings as needed
  • Experience with SLATE and Banner is a plus
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
  • Preference for candidates with prior experience in undergraduate admissions
