Job description

Overview

The Office of the Provost at Touro University is seeking an innovative and passionate Graduate Assistant to assist with initiatives within the office. The Graduate Assistant will support the production of The Faculty Chronicles podcast, including audio recording, editing, and ensuring ADA compliance for podcasts and videos. Additionally, the position requires assisting with outreach through Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools, event support, and maintaining Touro University's web presence through competitive analysis and monitoring online reviews. The Graduate Assist will also assist with virtual and in-person events for the international office and Provost's office and support the Touro University international ambassador network. The Graduate Assistant reports to the Associate Provost for Strategic Initiatives.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Train on TouroOne Connect, and Video and Audio Software
  • Assist The Faculty Chronicles team with audio recording and editing podcasts for the Touro University website and other podcast apps
  • Video, Audio, and Digital Media:
    • Attend each podcast recording session to resolve any potential audio issues
    • Create/edit videos and audio, using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software
    • Make videos and audio ADA compliant, for website video page and for podcasts
    • Post the draft podcasts on websites and other apps for approval and dissemination
  • CRM/WhatsApp Management:
    • Use TouroOne Connect (TOC), WhatsApp, WeChat, and other outreach tools to assist in outreach and engagement activities
  • Event Assistance:
    • Assist with virtual and in-person events for the international office and Provost's office, which may include occasional evening/weekend hours
  • Competitive Analysis and Web Presence:
    • Conduct competitive analysis of other universities with quarterly updates
    • Monitor online reviews of Touro and maintain a database of Touro's web presence, links, and listings with lead generators, ranking sites, Google Maps, Apple Maps, agency partners, and other relevant websites
  • Assist with tasks that might arise in the Office of the Provost
QualificationsEducation/ Experience
  • Backgroundincomputerscience, educationtechnology,orrelatedfield preferred.
  • Experienceininstructionaldesignorcurriculumdevelopment, a plus.
  • Experience with video/design software; ability to learn advanced skills.
  • Valid student status at Touro University.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Ability to learn and use TOC CRM and other marketing software.
