We are seeking a Mining/Ventilation Engineer.
Description of Responsibilities:
Client Support
  • Provide expert advisory services to clients on mine ventilation design, optimization, and safety best practices
  • Lead and support technical studies, audits, and due diligence reviews related to ventilation and air quality
  • Prepare clear, concise technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for clients and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on feasibility studies, operational improvements, and expansion projects
  • Support business development efforts, including proposal writing and client relationship management

Ventilation Engineering
  • Design and evaluate mine ventilation systems for underground and/or surface operations
  • Develop and analyze ventilation models using industry-standard software (e.g., Ventsim, Ventgraph)
  • Conduct site visits to perform ventilation surveys, airflow measurements, and system assessments
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to dust, diesel emissions, heat stress, and hazardous gases
  • Recommend and support implementation of ventilation improvements and infrastructure upgrades

Safety & Regulatory Compliance
  • Advise clients on compliance with applicable health and safety regulations (e.g., MSHA, OSHA, and international standards as applicable)
  • Conduct risk assessments, hazard analyses, and incident reviews related to ventilation and mine safety
  • Develop and review safety procedures, ventilation management plans, and emergency response strategies
  • Support audits and inspections, providing actionable recommendations to improve safety performance

Essential Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in mine ventilation and/or mine safety (consulting experience preferred)
  • Proficiency with ventilation modeling software
  • Strong understanding of mine safety regulations and industry best practices
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain in the future preferred
