Position Summary

A rapidly growing aerospace and defense technology company is seeking a Mechatronics Specialist to support the design, fabrication, integration, and deployment of advanced unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).

This is a highly hands-on engineering role where you'll help transform ideas into fully functional systems by combining mechanical design, electronics, RF integration, additive manufacturing, CNC machining, composite fabrication, and flight testing. Rather than specializing in one discipline, you'll be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through overseas operational deployment.

The ideal candidate is a versatile builder and problem solver who enjoys creating innovative systems, working across multiple engineering disciplines, and contributing wherever needed to bring complex projects to life.

What You'll Do

• Design, prototype, and integrate electro-mechanical systems for advanced unmanned aircraft platforms

• Build and assemble custom UAV components using CAD, CNC machining, 3D printing, and composite fabrication techniques

• Integrate electronics, RF systems, antennas, servos, and mechanical components into complete aircraft systems

• Perform soldering, PCB assembly, and electronic integration in accordance with J-STD-001 standards

• Support flight test preparation, data collection, troubleshooting, and post-flight analysis

• Operate and support UAS platforms during domestic and international field deployments

• Document engineering designs, testing activities, and system performance while collaborating with engineers and technicians across multiple disciplines

• Contribute throughout the entire product development process—from concept and prototyping to testing, manufacturing, and field operations

What You Bring

• Associate's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field preferred

• 10+ years of experience in electronics, mechatronics, robotics, unmanned systems, or a related engineering field

• Strong experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks and mechanical design principles

• Hands-on experience with CNC machining, 3D printing, prototype fabrication, and electro-mechanical assembly

• Experience integrating RF systems, antennas, servos, sensors, and electronic components

• J-STD-001 soldering certification or equivalent experience with precision electronic assembly

• Strong troubleshooting, fabrication, and systems integration skills

• Ability to travel internationally and support extended operational deployments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting UAV, unmanned systems, robotics, or aerospace development programs

• Background in composite fabrication using carbon fiber, fiberglass, or Kevlar

• Experience with PCB design, PCB milling, or embedded electronics

• Experience operating in military, defense, or austere field environments

• Experience training customers, partner organizations, or government personnel

• Familiarity with aviation systems, autonomous platforms, or robotic technologies

Why This Opportunity

• Work on cutting-edge unmanned aircraft systems from concept through operational deployment

• Join a highly collaborative engineering team where everyone contributes across multiple disciplines

• Four-day workweek (Monday–Thursday) with excellent work-life balance

• Broad exposure to mechanical, electrical, RF, manufacturing, and flight test activities

• Opportunity for international travel supporting real-world aerospace and defense missions

• High level of technical ownership with significant hands-on engineering responsibility

• Strong benefits package and long-term career growth within an innovative aerospace organization
