Job description

The Military Exports Manager will develop global strategy for military transactions and activities across PPG departments and locations worldwide. You will also provide guidance and expertise on the proper handling of military items including hardware, product information, services and military related issues. As a part of our Compliance team, you will ensure military exports are made in accordance with all applicable export control regulations.

You will report to Sr. Manager, Global Export Compliance. This position may be based at any major PPG location within the United States.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interface with the U.S. Government on military related activities.

  • Manage PPG's registration with the U.S. Dept. of State.

  • Prepare and submit any required reporting to the U.S. government (e.g., Canadian Exemption and MLA reports.)

  • Manage the classification of PPG's military Items globally.

  • Approve and submit the U.S. export authorizations of PPG's export-controlled Items.

  • Manage the Advisory Opinion process to the U.S. Government for military items.

  • Manage U.S. requests for clearance into the public domain for military data.

  • Manage the formal commodity jurisdiction and CCAT process to the U.S. Government for military items.

  • Support global export compliance team on matters with non-U.S. governments when requested.

  • Support PPG's voluntary disclosure process, which includes drafting communications, data collection, and working with employees, outside counsel, and Government officials.

  • Provide guidance to PPG's business units and staff functions on the proper handling of military Items (i.e., hardware, product information and services) and for ensuring that PPG's military exports are made in accordance with all applicable export control regulations, especially the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

  • Provide guidance related to technology controls, including physical and system access controls globally.

  • Maintain PPG's corporate procedures and supporting documentation in accordance with applicable regulatory changes.

  • Develop and maintain export compliance military metrics.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade or related discipline.

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in Export Compliance, industry knowledge.

  • 3+ years of working knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

  • Demonstrated oral, written and presentation skills.

  • Prime success factors include the ability to problem-solve, promote teamwork and drive change.

  • Travel up to 20% may be required.

  • Only U.S. Citizens, Green Card holders, and political asylees or refugees are eligible to apply. Must be able to obtain security clearance.

  • Comfort working a hybrid schedule of 4 days in office (Monday - Thursday) and flexible/remote Friday.
