Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction;
  • Groundwater, soil, and sediment remedy evaluation, cost estimation, and design calculations
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures;
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals; and
  • Task and project-level responsibility for performing, managing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments.
Education and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related engineering discipline. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. (preferred)
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred) 
  • Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

Below are the potential compensation ranges that we in good faith believe are applicable for this role at the time of this posting and are only applicable for jobs to be performed in the specified Washington locations below. The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec's total compensation package for employees. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Salary: $70,520/yearly / Maximum Salary: $88,150/yearly (Chicago, IL)
