The Role
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
Candidate will be a part of the A1B Electrical Distribution team, responsible to completing verifications and validation test on changes associated with the ship's electrical distribution system, authoring reports delineating the outcome of the test. The candidate will also be responsible for authoring documents to request action from the ship. Ideal candidate is a team player, willing to support the team in any area of the team's responsibility.
Must Have
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;
Master's Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience
Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
Nice to Have
Ability to develop, update and review electrical schematics.
Ability to develop, update, review and execute verification and validation procedures.
Knowledgeable of electrical distribution equipment and electrical protection equipment.
Strong written communication, ability to author technical documents.
