Job description

The Opportunity:
Tetra Tech Disaster Recovery Team is currently hiring Disaster Case Management Program (DCMP) Disaster Case Managers to assist with relief efforts following Hurricane Helene in the state of Georgia.

The DCMP Disaster Case Manager is responsible for providing case management services to disaster survivors and assist them in the recovery process. This role requires up to 40 hours per week in the declared disaster area. This position also requires excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of clients' disaster-related unmet needs.
  • Develop an individual recovery plan with survivors to set goals for each household.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, nonprofits, and community organizations, to facilitate access to resources and services.
  • Assist clients in applying for disaster assistance programs and other financial support mechanisms.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential case files and documentation in compliance with organizational standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate regular in person meetings with disaster survivors at local offices and other locations as needed at the convenience of the survivor.
  • Attend community meetings and events both in person and virtually.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge of disaster response and recovery strategies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of bachelor's degree in related field and 2+ years of related work experience with working knowledge of case management. An additional 3 years of industry experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.
  • A valid Driver's License is required for this position.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional demeanor while assisting survivors.
  • Knowledge of social services resources and support systems.
  • Proficient in MS Office.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must have reliable transportation (Must use your own vehicle).
  • Must be able to work on site in Georgia and drive during operating hours to work in DCM offices, visit shelters, community events, conduct home visits, and other in-person assignments.

Salary:
$25.00 per hour.

Additional Information:

  • This is a temporary assignment expected to last up to 24 months.
  • Work hours are typically 8 hours per day 5 days per week:
    • Monday - Friday | 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
    • 30 Minute Lunch & two 15 Minute Breaks

  • Work on the weekend may be occasionally required.

In Order To Be Considered For This Position:

  1. You must submit and pass a background check; AND
  2. Your driving record must not indicate any of the following during the past 3 years:
    1. Punitive suspension, denial, or revocation of driver's license.
    2. Conviction for impaired or intoxicated driving (DWAI, DUI, DWI).
    3. Conviction of reckless driving, driving with a suspended/denied/revoked 
    4. License, hit and run or leaving the scene.
    5. Conviction of 3 or more moving violations, at fault accidents or a combination.

This position with Tetra Tech is temporary and on an "as needed" basis and will end. It is understood that your employment is to be on an "at will" basis.
