What is an international development internship?

An International Development Internship is a temporary position that allows students or recent graduates to gain practical experience working with organizations focused on addressing global issues such as poverty, health, education, and sustainable development. These internships often involve supporting the planning, implementation, and evaluation of development projects in countries around the world. The experience helps interns build a foundation for a career in international development and related fields.

What kinds of projects do interns typically work on during an international development internship?

International development interns often support projects such as community needs assessments, program monitoring and evaluation, grant research, and report writing. Depending on the organization, interns may also assist with organizing workshops, updating communication materials, or conducting field research alongside local partners.
