Texas A&M International University (TAMIU), a member of the Texas A&M University System, welcomes applicants for aVisiting Lecturer of Computer Science and Engineering to beginFall 2026.

TAMIU is a Hispanic Serving Institution with over 8,000 students located in Laredo, Texas, a vibrant and bicultural city with a population of about 250,000. The university advances knowledge through research and discovery, teaching and learning, community engagement and public service, and with an intentional focus on student success and research excellence. This is aFixed-term, 9-month Visiting Lecturer appointment beginning Fall 2026.. Primary duties will includeteaching undergraduate computer science and computer engineering courses, including Machine Learning, Signals and Systems, introductory programming, and other courses based on School needs. Duties also includeadvising and mentoring students, including Senior Design activities as appropriate, and participate in assessment, accreditation, and other service activities as needed by the School of Engineering. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

The School of Engineering has thriving enrollment and ABET-accredited programs in Systems, Computer, and Petroleum Engineering. The School will launch new B.S. in Computer Science and M.S. in Systems Engineering programs in Fall 2026.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold aan earned M.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline by the start of the appointment. Candidates must have prior college-level teaching experience and be qualified to teach undergraduate courses in one or more areas of School need. We strongly encourage candidates with teaching or professional expertise in machine learning, signals and systems, programming, or related areas, and candidates able to teach across multiple areas of the computer science and computer engineering curricula.

We offer competitive salaries and a benefits package including health insurance, retirement benefits, and life insurance. Additional pay is available for summer teaching. Financial support for professional development opportunities, such as attending academic conferences, is also provided. Moving expenses are covered in whole or in part by the university.
