SYSTEMS ENGINEER SENIOR

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT
As a Systems Engineer Senior, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of NETCOM and the Army's DoDINA Enterprise. You will play a crucial role in ensuring enterprise capabilities, updates, patches, and configurations are validated, tested, and integrated within the Integrated Test Environment - Federated Lab (ITEF) before fielding across Army networks.
Lead/Manage/Support full lifecycle Tier III engineering activities within the ITEF, including patch testing, integration validation, baseline maintenance, STIG and vulnerability compliance checks, and documenting test results to support enterprise readiness.
Collaborate with NETCOM capability teams, system owners, cybersecurity specialists, configuration management personnel, and other engineering teams to execute functional testing, resolve technical issues, and ensure seamless enterprise integration.
Drive innovation, technical problem-solving, and continuous improvement for enterprise capabilities by identifying system deficiencies, analyzing new technologies, and supporting configuration, change, and release management processes.
Utilize virtualized environments, STIG/SCAP tools, ACAS/Nessus, Windows/Linux server technologies, VMware platforms, scripting, ITIL-based operational processes, and enterprise testing frameworks to perform engineering validation.

Tier III engineering and troubleshooting across enterprise IT systems
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Bring your technology expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Systems Engineer Senior must have:
Education: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science or additional years of experience
Experience: 5+ years of related experience
Technical skills: IASAE II Certification (CISSP, SecurityX (formerly CASP+), CSSLP
Security clearance level: Top Secret/SCI
Role requirements:

  • Ability to support testing deadlines driven by routine and critical patch cycles
  • Experience coordinating with multiple capability areas under NETCOM
  • Ability to work in classified and unclassified ITE_F environments
  • Experience with virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V)
  • Strong Windows and Linux system administration, STIG/SRG hardening, ACAS/Nessus scanning, SCAP compliance
  • Familiarity with DoDIN-A, NETCOM enterprise capabilities, and ITE-F processes, Engineering documentation (ETPs, test plans, test reports, designs)
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes including Change, Configuration, and Release Management
  • Ability to conduct system integration testing and analyze new technology sets,
  • Experience using enterprise lab environments for validation and assessment.

The likely salary range for this position is $88,130 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
