Job description

Build the future of travel software with AI agents as your co-pilots, shipping complex features end to end and setting the standard for how modern engineering gets done.

As an Agentic Software Engineer III, you are an experienced, product-minded, full-stack engineer who designs, builds, and ships complex features and subsystems with AI coding agents as core development tools. You will use tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot to multiply your impact, owning technical delivery from design through production.

This role supports the technology foundation behind arrivia, a leader in travel loyalty, membership, and cruise solutions. The systems you build power travel experiences for millions of members.

Working under general direction with significant autonomy, you will make complex decisions on system design and cross-component integration, balancing delivery speed, scalability, and long-term maintainability. Your work is measured at the outcome level, not task by task.

You will also mentor junior engineers, contribute to architectural decisions, and help shape how the team uses automation and AI to raise quality across the board. If you are energized by a fast-paced, collaborative environment that spans multiple technology domains and teams, this is your seat.

What You'll Own

  • Ship complex features: Design, develop, and deliver complex features and services for our travel platform as a key contributor on a full-stack product team.
  • Engineer with AI agents: Use agentic coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and GitHub Copilot in your daily workflow to accelerate delivery and improve code quality.
  • Guard code quality: Review and validate AI-generated code for correctness, security, performance, and maintainability, helping set quality standards across the team.
  • Modernize the platform: Revitalize aging services and architectures through refactoring, migration, and cloud-native design patterns.
  • Automate the busywork: Build and improve internal agentic workflows that automate repetitive tasks such as testing, documentation, and code-review triage.
  • Connect the tools: Build and configure Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations that link AI agents to internal tools, data sources, and platform services.
  • Scale the architecture: Contribute to the development and operations of an increasingly distributed architecture across cloud platforms, and help set and meet system SLOs.
  • Protect member trust: Safeguard the privacy and security of members' sensitive data, in partnership with our Risk and Security teams.
  • Drive down technical debt: Advocate for quality and durability with Product Owners, Engineering Managers, and Product Designers.
  • Mentor and lead: Mentor junior engineers on strong development practices, code quality, and productive use of AI-assisted tools.

What You'll Bring

  • 5 to 8 years of full-stack development experience building web applications and services.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot in professional workflows.
  • Strong proficiency in two or more of TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, or C#/.NET.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Next.js, Vue, or Angular.
  • A solid foundation in RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
  • Experience architecting and deploying applications on a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Working knowledge of the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and prompt engineering for code generation, testing, and documentation.
  • Bonus points for RAG, LangChain, GraphRAG, streaming platforms (Redis, Kafka, RabbitMQ), Docker, and CI/CD.
  • A builder mindset and curiosity for staying current with the evolving agentic coding landscape.
  • A formal CS degree is a plus, not a requirement. We care most about the depth of your engineering knowledge.

Benefits & Perks

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Exclusive employee travel rates
  • Travel discounts through arrivia programs
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) with company participation
