Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering
Adairsville, GA | Full-Time | Exempt

YANMAR is looking for an experienced Assistant Manager, Quality Assurance Engineering to join our After-Sales Support team in Adairsville, GA. This role is ideal for a technically strong leader with hands-on diagnostic experience who thrives on solving complex problems, improving processes, and supporting customers at a high level.
In this position, you'll serve as a key liaison for OEMs, distributors, and dealer partners while helping lead quality assurance initiatives, warranty operations, technical support, and continuous improvement efforts. What You'll Be Doing:
  • Lead quality assurance and warranty-related initiatives to improve customer experience and service performance
  • Supervise Quality Assurance Engineering operations and support KPI achievement
  • Analyze warranty claim and failure trend data to identify root causes and improvement opportunities
  • Develop and deliver technical training for service providers focused on diagnostics, warranty compliance, and repair excellence
  • Create and communicate technical service bulletins and product improvement communications
  • Provide advanced diagnostic and troubleshooting support for OEMs, distributors, and dealer partners
  • Partner with internal engineering, quality, and global teams to resolve technical issues
  • Lead escalated issue resolution and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct field visits for audits, technical investigations, rework oversight, and partner support
  • Build strong relationships with customers, service providers, and internal stakeholders
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 3+ years of hands-on diagnostic and troubleshooting experience supporting diesel engines, industrial equipment, agricultural, marine, construction, heavy-duty, or automotive equipment
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and emissions-related equipment
  • Experience using diagnostic tools such as Volt/Ohm meters, CAN bus, OBD II interfaces, or similar equipment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word); Power BI and CRM experience is a plus
  • Previous leadership or management experience preferred
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to travel approximately 15%, including occasional international travel
  • Japanese language skills are a plus
