Job description

Alliance Technical Group is offering a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in Human Resources at our Decatur AL office. Our intern will learn foundational HR competencies: job analysis and evaluation, communication, and HRIS tool proficiency. They will develop project management and process documentation skills. By Week 12, the intern should be able to independently draft and revise job descriptions to ATG standards, navigate and utilize tools for job description creation and benchmarking, identify gaps in an existing job description library, and communicate process guidance to a professional audience. Their work directly supports the People Department's goals of maintaining accurate job documentation and building a scalable process for job description management. We are looking to pay $18/hr.  

Describe the intern’s first assigned task or project:

The intern's first assignment will be to gain a full understanding of ATG's current job architecture. This includes reviewing all currently controlled job descriptions, scheduling introductory meetings with key managers to understand role functions and team structures.

The intern will learn foundational HR competencies: job analysis and evaluation, communication, and HRIS/compensation tool proficiency. They will also develop project management and process documentation skills. By Week 12, the intern should be able to independently draft and revise job descriptions to ATG standards, assist job description creation and benchmarking, identify gaps in an existing job description library, and communicate process guidance to a professional audience. Their work directly supports the People Department's goals of maintaining accurate job documentation and building a scalable process for job description management.

Final Project Description:

The intern will audit all existing controlled job descriptions, cross-referencing them against job titles produced through ATG's job titling initiative. They will identify which descriptions are current, which require updates, and which need to be created from scratch. The intern will develop and document a standardized process for creating, revising, and routing job descriptions through Document Control for approval.
