Job description

The Service Technician Summer Intern is an entry level position used to introduce candidates to an exciting career as a Caterpillar dealer technician. The Intern is responsible for assisting more experienced technicians on jobs involving the servicing and repairing of equipment. The Intern must be able to perform independently under close supervision. Examples of the types of machinery that the Intern must be able to evaluate and repair include earth moving equipment, diesel engines, electric power generators, lift trucks, and allied products. The Service Technician Intern will demonstrate initiative, commitment to teamwork, enthusiasm for customer service, and dedication to finding solutions in an efficient manner.

  • Learn and adhere to proper safety procedures and 5-Star guidelines
  • Assist with tasks under supervision on basic components in work including engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical components: remove and install; disassemble and reassemble; perform minor adjustments
  • Work as a helper alongside an experienced technician
  • Keep accurate records of all work to be reported during internship
