Looking to make a difference in an innovative and dynamic non-profit agency? UCP of Central Florida unlocks the potential of thousands of children each year at our campuses, pediatric therapy clinics and parent support programs.

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Understands the overall concept and role that the Human Resources department provides to the UCP of Central Florida organization and team members.
  • Job shadow opportunity: with the Human Resources Benefit Manager. Will gain knowledge of the Benefit role within the organization, such as: Benefit monthly enrollment, changes, and terminations, benefit audits and monthly bill payments. Yearly open enrollment, qualifying events, Cobra notifications and enrollment.
  • Will gain knowledge and be able to support with such functions as: Monthly ACA audit and identifying employee eligibility.
  • Workers compensation: Will have the opportunity to learn about incident reporting and identifying trends.
  • FMLA, Short Term Disability and Leave of Absence - Will have the opportunity to learn firsthand of the qualifying factors, employee law and department of labor requirements. Will learn how to identify the need of team members and how and when to offer leave. Will become familiar with HRIS system and employee leave tracking.

Requires effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and computer literacy.

  • This position requires attention to detail and the ability to present the human resources team in a friendly, confidential, and professional manner.
  • Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of human resources.
