UI/UX Accessibility Developer (WCAG 2.1 AA)

1-2 solid UX/UI Consultants, preferably with some WCAG experience.

2 -3 Months (tight deadline, so need to bring in additional resources)

HYBRID – Onsite downtown RVA a few days a week

Role Summary

UI/UX developer with hands-on experience in WCAG 2.1 AA mobile/web compliance and document remediation, including familiarity with ADA requirements and accessibility best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation
    • Develop semantic, accessible HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript/TypeScript, and React components.
    • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards across responsive mobile and web environments.
  • Testing & Auditing
    • Perform manual and automated accessibility testing.
    • Utilize tools such as:
      • Keyboard-only navigation
      • JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack
      • Color Contrast Analyzer
      • aXe Chrome Extension
      • Acrobat Pro XI/DC
      • WAVE Evaluation Tool
  • Remediation
    • Identify and correct accessibility issues in:
      • PDF, Word, PowerPoint, and iText documents
