We currently have a career opportunity for a UX Accessibility, Sr. Consultant to join our Strategy and Experience Design team.
The UX Accessibility Senior Consultant is a strategic and hands-on design leader responsible for advancing accessibility and inclusive design practices across digital products. This role partners with product, engineering, and research teams to ensure experiences meet WCAG standards and deliver equitable user outcomes.
This role combines UX craft, accessibility expertise, and cross-team influence to embed accessibility into design systems, workflows, and product development.
Responsibilities
  • Accessibility Design Leadership
  • Lead the integration of WCAG 2.1 AA standards into UX design processes, ensuring accessibility is built in from concept through delivery.
  • Provide guidance on applying WCAG 2.2 recommendations and evolving best practices.
  • Advocate for inclusive design solutions and help teams determine when enhanced accessibility (e.g., AAA criteria) is appropriate for specific user needs or experiences.
  • Design Systems & UX Practice Integration
  • Partner with design systems team to embed accessibility standards into components, patterns, and Figma libraries.
  • Define and promote consistent annotation practices for accessibility in design artifacts (e.g., Figma), enabling clear communication to engineering teams.
  • Contribute to establishing scalable design guidelines for:
  • Internal vs. external products
  • Authenticated vs. unauthenticated experiences
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner closely with:
    • Product designers and UX teams to embed accessibility into everyday design work
    • Engineers to ensure accessibility requirements are feasible and implemented correctly
    • UX researchers to incorporate insights from users with disabilities and inform design decisions
  • Act as a subject matter expert, guiding teams on accessibility trade-offs and solutions
  • Accessibility Audits & Continuous Improvement
  • Support and interpret accessibility audits by:
    • Translating findings into actionable design improvements
    • Partnering with teams on remediation strategies
  • Help establish feedback loops for:
    • Re-testing
    • Continuous accessibility improvements across products
  • Education & Advocacy
  • Contribute to internal enablement efforts, including:
  • Accessibility training sessions (e.g., Deque training support)
  • Knowledge-sharing forums such as Snack Talks
  • Create and maintain UX-facing documentation, playbooks, and examples
  • Advocate for accessibility as a core component of design quality
  • Third-Party & Ecosystem Influence
  • Provide UX and accessibility input into third-party product and vendor evaluations, ensuring alignment with WCAG expectations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure accessibility considerations are included in external experiences

Qualifications
  • Familiarity with WCAG 2.2 and AAA considerations
  • Experience contributing to an Accessibility Center of Excellence or similar model
  • Background in UX research or working with users with disabilities
  • Accessibility certifications
    • Certified Professional Accessibility Core Competencies "CPACC"
    • Web Accessibility Specialist "WAS"
  • Ability to influence design standards across multiple teams
  • 3-5 years demonstrable experience in digital and web (specify role)
  • Marketing, advertising, design or brand building experience
  • Strong understanding of UX and UI design best practices
  • Ability to think beyond the small picture into big picture branding
  • Strong multitasking abilities and mentoring skills
  • A willingness and desire to re-examine what you know in order to continually challenge your creativity
  • Desire and ability to thrive in a fast paced environment on multiple projects in various phases and under tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of design trends for mobile, iPad, video and other new media (keep for Designers & Strategists)
  • BA/BS in Graphic Design, Information Design, or other visual arts
  • A current portfolio with up-to-date projects that demonstrates the application of current design trends and concepts required for all applying to position. (keep for Creative Services roles)

It is not typical for a candidate to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the unique facts and circumstances regarding each candidate. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $95,798 to $135,640.
