West Monroe is seeking Consulting Interns to join our Office of the CFO Advisory Practice.
As a CFO Advisory Consulting Intern, you will use your skills to transform our clients' accounting, budgeting, planning, and financial reporting processes. This transformation is achieved through process improvements, enhancements in core technologies, AI and automation, organization redesign, and operating model refinements.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a project team to assist client Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) in identifying and implementing improvement opportunities in financial close, reporting, forecasting, and analytics by:
    • Assessing current state business processes, organization and the technology enablement of key processes within the Office of the CFO
    • Analyzing and identifying areas for alignment between business strategy, finance strategy and IT strategy
    • Developing transformational roadmaps to modernize and optimize clients' financial processes, technologies, and workforce
  • Contribute to technology selection and implementation efforts (e.g., ERP) by:
    • Assessing current-state business and IT application landscapes
    • Developing and aligning IT strategy with key business objectives and creating future-state roadmaps
    • Supporting the software selection process, from documenting client requirements to evaluating vendors and recommending optimal solutions
    • Participating in implementations, including key project management activities and core implementation supporting tasks including design, configuration, testing and deployment of platforms
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs
  • Apply technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in progress, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
    • You will be asked to confirm your expected graduation month and year at the offer stage and prior to beginning your internship
    • We do request & review official transcripts from your school prior to the start of our internship program
    • If your expected graduation date falls outside of this range or changes, you are not eligible for this internship
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.)
  • Reside within 50 miles of your assigned office prior to your start date; our culture emphasizes team collaboration within a hybrid work model
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%); travel expenses covered by West Monroe
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs
