JOB SUMMARY:

The Room Attendant is a vital member of our hospitality team, responsible for upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and aesthetic presentation for all guest rooms and public spaces. In the heart of the vibrant Florida hospitality market, you will serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring our vacationers and business travelers experience a pristine, sanctuary-like environment that aligns with the luxury reputation of The Palms Hotel & Spa.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cleaning & Sanitization:Execute meticulous cleaning of guest rooms according to brand standards, including stripping and making beds with precision, dusting high-end furniture, vacuuming carpets, and polishing tile/marble surfaces.

Bathroom Excellence:Deep-clean and disinfect bathrooms daily, ensuring all fixtures, glass, and mirrors are streak-free and sanitized using approved luxury-grade agents.

Amenity Management: Inventory and replenish guest room supplies, including premium linens, high-end toiletries, coffee/tea service, and stationary, ensuring a "first-day" look for every guest.

Proactive Reporting:Act as the "eyes and ears" of the property by identifying and reporting maintenance needs (leaks, HVAC issues, lighting) and safety hazards through the hotel's digital reporting platform.

Guest Engagement:Provide warm, professional service by responding promptly to guest requests. Adhere to the "10/5 Rule" (acknowledge at 10 feet, warmly greet at 5 feet) to foster a welcoming atmosphere.

Safety & Compliance:Complete Florida-mandated Human Trafficking Awareness Training within 60 days of hire (Section 509.096, F.S.) and adhere to all OSHA safety protocols regarding chemical use.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience:1+ years of housekeeping experience in a luxury resort or high-end hotel environment preferred.
  • Communication:Basic English proficiency is required for safety instructions and guest interaction. Bilingual skills (English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole) are highly desirable.
  • Attention to Detail:A discerning eye for cleanliness and the ability to work independently while maintaining rigorous brand standards.
  • Professionalism:A positive attitude and the ability to remain calm and efficient during peak occupancy periods.
  • Schedule & Availability

Flexibility is Required: The Palms Hotel & Spa is a 24/7 operation. Candidates must have open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. * Seasonal Fluctuations: Schedule shifts may vary based on Florida's peak tourist seasons and hotel occupancy levels to ensure optimal guest coverage.

WORK CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Physical Requirements
  • Lifting/Carrying:Frequently lift and carry items up to 35 lbs (linens, trash) and occasionally up to 50 lbs (mattress rotations).
  • Pushing/Pulling:Ability to maneuver a fully-stocked housekeeping cart (up to 100 lbs) across various floor surfaces, including thick carpeting.
  • Stamina & Mobility:Ability to stand and remain active for an 8-hour shift, involving frequent bending, kneeling, reaching, and stair climbing.
  • Manual Dexterity:Frequent use of hands for gripping tools, delicate handling of linens, and operating cleaning machinery.
