Requirements:

This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within VMG Health's Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice, supporting financial due diligence (FDD) engagements across the healthcare industry. The TAS Intern contributes to the success of the firm by serving as a supporting member of client engagement teams, gaining exposure to buy-side and sell-side transactions, Quality of Earnings analyses, and other deal-related workstreams.


The TAS Intern works under the guidance of Consultants, Managers, and Senior Managers, assisting with data analysis, financial modeling, and engagement deliverables, while collaborating closely with colleagues and leaders across the practice.


Responsibilities

  • Support engagement teams on financial due diligence and transaction advisory projects across the healthcare industry.
  • Assist with data gathering, financial analysis, and Quality of Earnings, working capital, and other diligence workstreams under the direction of engagement leaders.
  • Support the preparation of financial models, schedules, and analyses used in client deliverables and diligence reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of client-ready deliverables, ensuring work is accurate, well-organized, and well-sourced.
  • Keep engagement leaders informed of task status, including delays or potential issues, holding self-accountable for assigned deadlines and deliverables.
  • Under the direction of the engagement leader, help prepare clear, concise summaries of findings for internal review.
  • Interact professionally with clients and colleagues in meetings and calls as opportunities arise.
  • Build foundational knowledge of TAS and FDD methodologies, tools, and healthcare industry sectors.
  • Assist with formatting and organizing presentation materials, proposals, and internal team resources as needed.
  • Show interest in building professional relationships and participates in team and firm networking activities.
  • Complete administrative functions, mandatory training, and other internal responsibilities in a timely manner.
  • Remain flexible and adaptable in work schedules and assignments as defined by departmental and company need.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a positive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date consistent with internship timing.
  • Professionalism and strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact appropriately with clients and colleagues.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in work product.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with responsiveness to team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with an aptitude for working with financial data.
  • Takes initiative, is proactive, and seeks out learning opportunities.
  • Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and a strong interest in transaction advisory services and healthcare.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with financial modeling is a plus.
  • Basic understanding of financial statements and accounting principles gained through coursework or prior experience.
