2022 DevOps Team Lead                      (Must have Copado)

 

Position Summary: The Team Lead for DevOps oversees the design, automation, and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure, and deployment processes to ensure efficient software delivery. This role drives scalability, performance, and reliability across cloud and on-prem environments while promoting best practices such as Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD). In addition to technical expertise, the position requires strong leadership and collaboration skills to mentor team members, partner with cross-functional teams, and lead initiatives that enhance deployment speed, system stability, and operational excellence.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

·      Lead enterprise-wide release operations across Azure, MuleSoft, RPA, and Salesforce, ensuring timely and high-quality deployments.

·      Govern Salesforce deployments using Copado, enforcing compliance, quality gates, and resolving merge conflicts.

·      Coordinate release calendars, environment refreshes, rollback strategies, and risk mitigation for all platforms.

·      Manage and optimize production and non-production environments, including Salesforce sandbox strategy and automated data seeding.

·      Implement version control, branching, and tagging strategies in Git-based repositories (Azure Repos, Bitbucket, GitHub).

·      Design and maintain enterprise CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps; integrate automated build, test, and deployment processes across platforms.

·      Drive infrastructure automation using IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, and Bicep, while enforcing security and quality controls.

·      Partner with teams to enhance pipeline performance, lead root-cause analysis for deployment issues, and implement preventive solutions.

·      Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, processes, and troubleshooting; ensure releases meet quality, security, and compliance standards.

·      Mentor and coach team members, promote technical growth, and continuously refine release management processes through automation and efficiency improvements.

Qualifications and Competencies Required To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in IT engineering, with a focus on DevOps role.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading teams

 

Education:

·      Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

·      Master’s degree in STEM or Business preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Proficient in deployment using Copado, Azure DevOps, or Salesforce CLI (SFDX).
  • Proficient with Azure DevOps – pipeline creation (YAML/classic), variable groups, service connections, and artifact management. Exposure to API management, integration monitoring, and secrets management (Key Vault, Vault, etc.). Familiarity with security and compliance automation in CI/CD
  • Deployment management experience of MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, CloudHub, and Runtime Manager; CI/CD integration will be A+
  • Source Control – Git, Bitbucket, or Azure Repos; strong understanding of branching strategies (GitFlow, trunk-based).
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Terraform, ARM templates, or Bicep.
  • Scripting & Automation – PowerShell, Bash, YAML, Groovy, or Python.
  • Knowledge of containerization Docker, AKS, or Kubernetes-based deployment experience will be good to have
  • Monitoring/Logging – Application Insights, Azure Monitor, Splunk, or ELK
  • Experience with integrating ServiceNow, Copado or Jira for release governance and change tracking.

Qualifications Preferred:

 

 Proficiency in auditing software, bankruptcy case management systems, and Microsoft Excel.

 Demonstrated ability to identify discrepancies, assess risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

 Excellent written and verbal communication skills for preparing audit reports and presenting findings.
