Job Description:
The Louisiana State University School of Theatre and Film is seeking applications for a pool of part-time Adjunct Instructors in film and digital media (areas include but are not limited to cinematography, sound design, and television producing). Positions will be filled as needed for each academic semester.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Teach course(s) in film and/or television production in specialties as needed (e.g. cinematography, sound design, producing)
  • Participate in department initiatives, including meetings, screenings, festivals, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education Level: MFA
  • Specific Degree: Terminal degree in film production or related area
  • Degree Substitute: Terminal degree in film production or related area or equivalent professional experience
  • Specific Experience: Demonstrated experience as in area of specialty (including cinematographer, sound recordist/mixer, editor, or other professional specialty)

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Specific Experience: Successful experience teaching at the college level

The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Television in the LSU School of Theatre was established in 2020 to give students immediate and sustainable purchase on the benefits of the state's film tax incentive program, which has secured Louisiana among the top film-production markets in the U.S. The application-only program attracts competitive applicants from across the U.S. and internationally, serving high-achieving students with varied experiences and goals. Our students volunteer at the New Orleans Film Festival, intern on major films shot locally in the Gulf South's largest film studio (Fantastic Four; The Twilight Saga; The Iron Claw), and represent LSU at festivals across the world, including Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, and Edinburgh Fringe Fest.
