Engineering Staff Intern
Brief Job Summary:
The Engineering Staff Intern is responsible for reviewing and updating work instructions, maintaining operational support documents, and supporting database and skill-matrix systems used by operations. This role assists engineering teams with a variety of tasks, ensuring that documentation is accurate, accessible, and aligned with operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Documentation & Database Support
  • Review current controlled documents
  • Maintain work instructions within the "Work Instruction Cockpit"
  • Collect, format, and update data as required
  • Support maintenance of the AG5 Skill Matrix application
  • Ensure updated revisions are available and accessible to operations
Engineering Support
  • Assist engineering staff with project-related tasks
  • Participate in team meetings and provide progress updates
  • Complete administrative functions as requested by the Coordinator
General Operations
  • Ensure work area cleanliness, following Rittal's 6S standards
  • Work safely and comply with all health, safety, security, and emergency requirements
  • Communicate any safety hazards or potential hazards to management
  • Maintain good attendance and work ethic
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Knowledge & Experience
  • Basic understanding of business software and applications
  • Participation in business-related coursework preferred
  • Basic computer skills including MS Office and SAP
  • Strong critical-thinking skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and reach frequently during the work shift
  • Ability to work at a computer and keyboard throughout the shift
Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to stay focused in a demanding environment
  • Adaptability to changing assignments
  • Ability to multi-task and learn office procedures and new software
  • Strong attention to detail with effective oral and written communication skills
