U.S. Equity - Small Cap Analyst Position - Vice President
As a Small Cap Analyst within the Small Cap Equity portfolio team, you will be responsible for contributing to the investment process by researching companies across various sectors and market capitalizations with the objective of producing actionable investment recommendations.
Job responsibilities:
  • Develop analytical and valuation framework for covered stocks and for ensuring the quality and consistency of the investment team's research process.
  • Perform independent fundamental analysis of a company's business by examining SEC filings, analyzing historical financial statements and interviewing corporate executives to identify sources of competitive advantage and understand the company's business model.
  • Identify fundamental risks for each stock in regards to macro, industry and company specific events.
  • Build and maintain financial models to estimate future cash flows and sustainable earnings power.
  • Maintain written and verbal communication with the Portfolio Manager and communicate effectively with internal colleagues and external clients.
  • Utilize valuation techniques to estimate firm value.
  • Deliver clear/concise investment recommendations under uncertainty.
  • Distinguish between essential and non-essential information.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities and skills:
  • Bachelor Degree in Finance or related field.
  • 5+ years experience.
  • Must be detailed oriented and highly numerate with creative problem solving abilities, a strong interest in financial markets and an ability to multi-task.
  • Requires independent thinking and the ability to perform research with limited oversight.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and be a team player.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities and skills:
  • CFA preferred.
  • Generalist w/ key focus on Technology and/or Healthcare sectors preferred.
