Job description

EOG Resources, Inc. (NYSE: EOG) is one of the largest crude oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in the United States with proved reserves in the U.S. and Trinidad. EOG offers internship opportunities to university students pursuing a bachelor, master, or doctorate degree in a geoscience program. Interns will support subsurface evaluation efforts related to exploration and development projects, and obtain hands-on experience in geologic and seismic interpretation, along with subsurface mapping and analysis. Preference will be given to students with strong academic backgrounds in stratigraphy, sedimentology, and structural geology, as well as log analysis and geophysical interpretation. The geoscience intern will demonstrate strong computer skills and the ability to generate geologic maps that show an aptitude to objectively analyze the data and then progress into the realms of interpretation, projection, and actionable recommendations.
Job Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor, master, or doctorate degree in a geoscience program
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
  • Eligible to work in the United States
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across disciplines
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email applications
  • Possess deductive reasoning skills and be able to analyze and synthesize information for problem solving
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, and demonstrate effective project coordination, facilitation, and implementation
