Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Strategic Sourcing/Contract Management & General Supply Chain, the General Procurement Intern performs a variety of duties and activities related to RFP/RFQ analysis, ERP system data entry, supplier information management, and contracts system data entry within the Supply Chain Department. Participate in on-the-job training and review documentation to ensure accuracy. Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly, and safe working environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Validate supplier information then update pricing and contacts in ERP System.

  • Support inventory counts as required. (Reconciliation, investigation, counts, surveys)

  • Communicate with supervisor on items that may drive operational performance and require assistance.

  • Research and analyze potential suppliers/vendors for RFP/RFQ/RFI.

  • Ensure maintenance of accurate, thorough contract records and help to facilitate efficient interdepartmental communications related to assigned areas.

  • Support company initiatives, record keeping, administrative tasks and other miscellaneous projects and reporting requests as needed.

  • Create and maintain spreadsheets as necessary and provide reports.

  • Review contacts and update the contract database.

  • Accountable for ensuring corporate Safety Management System activities are being effectively applied by staff personnel within PHI.

  • This job is an in-office assignment.

  • Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned by supervisor.

  • Travel may be required to visit PHI bases or vendors/suppliers.

  • Work in Microsoft products, especially Excel for reporting and analysis.

  • Promote PHI's Destination Zero initiative.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Solid knowledge of business and economic issues, cost structures and contracts.

  • Ability to pay strict attention to details, excellent organizational skills, strong computer skills, and strong communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks simultaneously and maintain tight timelines while meeting targeted savings outcomes.

  • Strong conflict management, problem-solving and communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Knowledge of program management tools and technique. (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
