Are you looking to lead the future of defense technology?  Miltope Corporation is seeking a transformational President & General Manager to lead our respected defense technology and manufacturing business into its next phase of growth, innovation, and market expansion.

This executive will provide strategic leadership for a defense contractor operating under a Special Security Agreement (SSA) and FOCI-mitigated structure, serving U.S. Department of Defense customers, prime contractors, allied foreign military customers, and commercial aerospace partners. The successful candidate will drive growth, operational excellence, customer engagement, and national security compliance while building upon Miltope's legacy as a trusted provider of rugged computing, advanced technologies, and mission-critical solutions.

This role is ideal for an accomplished defense industry executive, retired General or Flag Officer with significant industry leadership experience, or a senior operational leader ready to step into a top executive role.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) serves as the senior executive leader of the corporation and is responsible for establishing strategic direction, ensuring operational excellence, and delivering sustainable growth and profitability to our Board of Directors. Operating under a Special Security Agreement (SSA) for Foreign Ownership, Control, or Influence (FOCI) mitigation, the CEO must uphold all U.S. Government nationalsecurity, exportcontrol, and compliance obligations while advancing the company's mission in rugged computing solutions for defense, aerospace, and commercial markets.

The CEO develops and delivers meaningful results on corporate goals, operating plans, and policies; implements Boardapproved strategies; and ensures that the business unit operates in alignment with parent company objectives wherever possible, customer requirements, and regulatory mandates. Through strong personal leadership, the CEO ensures that the interests of customers, shareholders, employees, and U.S. Government stakeholders are served in a manner consistent with corporate policy, nationalsecurity commitments, and SSA requirements and is responsible for growth.

 

What YOU will do: 

Drive Strategic Growth & Strategic Expansion

  • Develop and execute corporate growth strategies
  • Expand market share across defense, aerospace, and related technology sectors
  • Lead business development, capture, and strategic partnership efforts
  • Strengthen relationships with DoD customers, prime contractors, and industry partners
  • Identify new opportunities across government and commercial markets

 

Operational & Business Management

  • Directs company operations to achieve planned performance goals, including revenue, margin, cash flow, and return on invested capital.
  • Develops and maintains management systems that ensure effective controls including business development, engineering, program management, operations, human resources, quality supply chain, finance, and security/cybersecurity.
  • Ensures that the business unit is properly organized, staffed, and resourced to meet business objectives and contractual obligations.
  • Oversee the development of products, technologies, facilities, and personnel to obtain and maintain competitive advantage in rugged computing markets.

Program, Customer and Market Leadership

  • Set customer engagement policy, ensuring that all customer relationships, government and commercial-are conducted with integrity, responsiveness, and technical excellence.
  • Directs periodic reviews of the company's strategic market position and integrates market intelligence with product capabilities, technology roadmaps, and financial resources.
  • Represents the company with key customers, including DoD program offices, prime contractors, integrators, and commercial partners.
  •  Leads the development and execution of the company's growth strategy, including organic growth, strategic partnerships, business development, capture activities, and market expansion initiatives.

Compliance, Security, and Risk Management

 

  • Ensures full compliance with FAR/DFAR, NISPOM, DFARS, ITAR/EAR, cybersecurity requirements (e.g., CMMC) and all SSAmandated security protocols.
  • Maintains a strong security culture and ensures that all employees understand and adhere to nationalsecurity and exportcontrol obligations.
  • Identifies and mitigates enterprise risks, including supplychain vulnerabilities, program performance risks and compliance exposures.

Organizational Leadership & Culture

  • Leads the company's culture through policy statements, leadership actions, and consistent communication.
  • Builds a highperforming leadership team and ensures succession planning for all critical roles.
  • Promotes a culture of accountability, ethical conduct, continuous improvement and employee engagement.

What YOU Need:

  • Experience in defense-sector business development, capture management, and customer engagement, including the development and execution of growth strategies that expand market share, strengthen customer relationships, and drive revenue growth across government and commercial markets.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive seniorlevel executive experience, preferably within the defense manufacturing sectors
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, Technology Management, or a related field.
  • Significant P&L ownership and business leadership experience
  • Record of driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a US security clearance.

 

Preferred Education & Experience:

 

  • Master's degree in business administration (MBA), Engineering Management, Finance, Public Administration, Operations Management, or related discipline.
  • Advanced degrees in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field is highly desirable.
  • Education in National Security Studies, Defense Acquisition, Government Contracting, or Strategic Leadership is a plus.
  • Experience operating within a FOCImitigated environment, SSA governance structure, or other nationalsecuritysensitive organization.
  • Previous experience serving as a Chief Executive Officer, President, General Manager, Chief Operating Officer, or equivalent senior executive leader within a defense, aerospace, manufacturing, or technology organization is strongly preferred
