Our Construction Internship Opportunities offer hands-on experience as a Field Engineer, Estimator, or Construction Office Intern:
Field Engineer
At The NRP Group, Field Engineer Interns gain hands-on experience on active multifamily construction sites, learning how large-scale apartment communities are built from the ground up. Field Engineer Interns are exposed to multiple phases of a project, from pre-construction and site preparation through construction and final completion. This role provides valuable field experience while developing an understanding of construction processes, project coordination, and quality control.
  • Supporting the Superintendent and Project Manager with day-to-day construction activities.
  • Inspecting work to make sure it matches plans, specifications, and quality standards while reviewing plans, drawings, and project documents to understand how they translate to the field.
  • Documenting construction progress and helping track issues that come up on site.

Estimator
Construction Estimating Intern gain hands-on experience on the pre-construction side of multifamily development. This primarily office-based role supports the estimating team in analyzing project plans, developing cost estimates, and helping determine how projects can be efficiently built before construction begins.
  • Reviewing construction plans and drawings to understand project scope.
  • Estimating construction costs, including materials, labor, and subcontractor work.
  • Preparing bid packages, comparing subcontractor bids, and supporting pre-construction documentation and analysis.

Construction Office Intern
Under the direction of the Project Manager, the Construction Office Intern supports project documentation and construction activities throughout the life of multifamily development. This role works closely with the Project Manager and Project Superintendent, gaining exposure to multiple facets of construction from pre-construction through project completion.
  • Support project administration by helping field staff document construction issues and maintain project records.
  • Coordinate submittals, RFIs, schedules, inspections, and other project documentation.
  • Assist with quality control, site safety, materials, subcontractor coordination, and issue resolution.

Location: Property sites will vary across many of our growing markets including, but not limited to, Florida, Mid-Atlantic, Ohio, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, and Texas.
Summer Internship Program Overview:
  • Lunch & Learn sessions with various departments to provide you with more insight into other aspects of the business.
  • Structured professional development sessions occurring throughout the program.
  • Paired with an NRP Buddy / Peer Mentor.
  • Organized activities both in and out of the office to connect with other NRP team members.
  • Exposure to senior leadership throughout the duration of your internship.
  • Opportunity to volunteer and give back in the community.

Requirements:
  • Education: Undergraduate or graduate-level degree in related field conferred by June 2028.
  • Must be able to commit to 40 hours/week for the duration of the 10-week summer internship: May 31, 2027, through August 6, 2027.
  • Sponsorship for work visas is not available for this program.
