POSITION OVERVIEW
As a member of the Community Impact & Vitality team and a Maconda Brown O'Connor (MBOC) Intern, you will join an incredibly talented and hardworking department dedicated to advance BakerRipley's impact in the Houston region. The intern will work on projects in one or more of the following areas: Strategy & Implementation, Data Strategy, Public Grants, Stakeholders & Partnerships, and Community Resilience.
The MBOC intern is a pro-active and resourceful team member, who will assist in a diverse array of projects to support the team.
EXPECTED POSITIVE OUTCOMES
- Ability to work with diverse teams – both internal and external to the agency.
- Complete assigned deliverables individually and/or collaboratively with teammates.
- Complete trainings such as Appreciative Inquiry model to apply frameworks to their work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Conducts timely follow up on all project components and maintain project plans
- Participate in meetings and events
- Engage in and support strategic work
- Conduct research and analyze data
- Lead or support with creating deliverables such as reports, white papers, etc.
- Support with administrative tasks
- Collaborate with teams to achieve project goals
- Provide technical and organizational support on projects
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards
EDUCATION
Current College student or Associate’s degree in Social Work and currently a student pursuing an MSW from the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of one (1) year experience working

Computer beginners (Word, Excel, Power Point)
