Practicum Placement (Grades K -12)
EVSC is excited to offer a clinical psychology practicum placement which includes a supervised,
hands-on training experience where graduate students apply their theoretical knowledge to real-
world settings by working directly with EVSC students under the guidance of a licensed clinical
psychologist, gaining practical skills in assessment, intervention, and case management, while
building foundational competencies for future professional practice as a clinical psychologist;
essentially bridging the gap between classroom learning and professional practice with intensive
supervision and feedback. Students will learn to collaborate with a team of professionals to

health needs under close supervision. Students will also conduct classroom observations
and provide feedback to school teams. Client ages will typically range from 5 years to 18
years.
Supervised practice:
A licensed psychologist acts as a site supervisor, providing ongoing feedback, guidance,
and mentorship throughout the practicum experience.
Caseload management:
Students will be assigned a caseload of clients, learning to manage their schedules,
documentation, and ethical considerations related to client care.
Skill development:
Focus on developing skills in areas like clinical interviewing, psychological assessment,
diagnosis, treatment planning, intervention delivery, crisis management, and professional
communication.
Ethical considerations:
Students will be expected to adhere to the ethical guidelines set by the American
Psychological Association (APA) in all interactions with clients.
Reflection and evaluation:
Regular supervision sessions will include discussion of case presentations, self-reflection
on clinical skills, and evaluation of progress towards competency development.
Application Process:
Students interested in a Practicum Placement with EVSC should submit a letter of interest and
a letter of recommendation to Dr. Melissa Umali (melissa.umali@evsck12.com) and Mrs.
Brenna Kelley (brenna.kelley@evsck12.com). Dr. Umali and/or Brenna Kelley will then reach
out to share the next steps in the application process.
