*All intern work will be done under the supervision of the school psychologist or the assigned administrator.*
General Responsibilities:
Under the immediate supervision of a school psychologist, the school psychologist intern will perform the following: attend Student Study Team (SST) meetings, attend IEP meetings, conduct and write psycho-educational evaluations, conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs), develop appropriate Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs), present reports at IEP meetings, make recommendations for and attend 504 meetings, perform individual and group counseling, conduct crisis intervention and consultation/outreach, and consult and collaborate with teachers, IEP team members, and staff regarding academic, social/emotional, and/or behavior interventions and/or accommodations for students.
Training and Support:
Supervision will be provided by a district school psychologist who has a minimum of three years of full-time experience as a practicing school psychologist. Throughout the school year, the intern will attend monthly school psychologist team meetings and available trainings. Additionally, the intern will attend monthly trainings for inters and practicum students with a school psychologist specialist. Intern will be able to have experience at preschool, elementary, middle school, and/or high school levels.
