Summary of Job Duties:The Pharmacy Intern will perform most of the duties of a pharmacist under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the practical experience of day to day responsibilities. You will practice skills in dispensing, prescription order processing, verbal communication and problem solving. The intern will receive training in the Outpatient Pharmacy, MTM, and Meds to Beds along with opportunities to engage in projects, presentations, and experience in our Specialty Pharmacy. Employee is expected to work full time during the summer breaks along with one Saturday per month in our M2B department. During the school year, 8 hours per week will be required along with the one monthly Saturday shift.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited Pharmacy School

  • Must have a current Pharmacy Technician License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Incoming First-Year Pharmacy Student


Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Pulls and labels medications prior to dispensing

  • Maintains a clean work area

  • Involved in the day to day operations of maintaining the pharmacy

  • Pulls expired medications

  • Keeps up with cycle counts

  • Helps to put the order up

  • Occasional compounding

  • Delivers medications to patient rooms upon hospital discharge

  • Delivers employee Rx's

  • Works registers at the front counter

  • Involved in Rx processing and all pharmacist duties (with the exception of verification) under the direct supervision

  • of a Pharmacist

  • Answers the phones

  • Performs other duties as assigned
