Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in VMware virtualization, Oracle Linux, Microsoft Windows Server, and Active Directory Services and a proven ability to maintain high system availability, automate infrastructure operations, and implement secure, scalable cloud-ready architectures.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and support VMware environments, including troubleshooting virtual machines, Oracle Linux, and Windows Server.
  • Operate under deadlines to independently resolve complex infrastructure problems.
  • Install, maintain, and administer Windows Server Active Directory Services.
  • Maintain CRM-related accounts in Salesforce as assigned.
  • Monitor platforms, tune performance, plan capacity, and maintain overall service health to maximize uptime.
  • Maintain and administer DHCP, DNS, IIS, sFTP, and related network services.
  • Support an integrated operations team managing an infrastructure cloud environment and act as liaison with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based architectures.
  • Administer server hardware and software inventories and documentation.
  • Participate in database design and implementation in coordination with stakeholders.
  • Implement and enforce security procedures, including Microsoft server security configuration and patching.
  • Provision and administer user access credentials and folder permissions.
  • Support web portals, middleware, infrastructure applications, APIs, network, and monitoring needs.
  • Facilitate deployment of application code enhancements to environments.
  • Provide recommendations for operational improvements of applications and services.
  • Restore services after incidents, investigate outage causes, and assess business impact.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve daily system backup process failures and respond to server resource alerts.
  • Work customer support tickets and requests within defined service levels.
  • Participate in on-call rotation covering business hours, nights, and weekends as scheduled.
  • Perform other duties as assigned while modeling integrity, teamwork, and accountability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Production experience with Linux and Windows Server operating systems, including Oracle Linux.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Services, DHCP, DNS, IIS, and sFTP.
  • Production experience with VMware-focused server virtualization and performance monitoring/tuning.
  • Knowledge of NAS/SAN concepts, domain/forest management, and basic switching/routing.
  • Working knowledge of SQL scripting and basic to intermediate shell scripting skills.
  • Ability to plan systems architecture, gather and document requirements, and conduct incident triage and research.
  • Ability to present technical ideas to non-technical partners and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, analytical problem-solving, customer service, and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail and alignment to organizational values and culture.
  • Experience level: 5-10 years in server configuration management, administration, and production support.

Preferred Skills:

  • Architecture and hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, Site Recovery Manager (SRM), vCloud Director, and migration tools.
  • Knowledge of Morpheus VM Essentials and containerization using Docker.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitLab and scripting with Python and Bash for automation and integration.
  • Understanding of migrating applications and services to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, OCI, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with analytics tools like Looker for data visualization and reporting.
  • Experience with networking and security principles and working within an ITIL framework.
  • Experience managing relationships with cloud or service providers.
  • Relevant Linux certifications are a plus.
