To thrive as an Intern in the oil industry, you typically need a background in engineering, geology, or a related STEM field, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Familiarity with industry software such as AutoCAD, Petrel, or data analysis tools, and sometimes safety certifications, is often required. Effective communication, teamwork, and eagerness to learn are crucial soft skills that help interns integrate and contribute within multidisciplinary teams.
