POSITION SUMMARY:

The NOC Intern is an entry level position that will aid in the day-to-day operations of the Network Operations Center. This role will largely focus on internal support but will also allow some opportunities to interact with our Managed Service Clients. Interns will be trained on our process and will assist our staff with troubleshooting when necessary. Due to the nature of this position, the candidate will be required to work from our Main office and may include occasional visits to client locations (within NJ).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- MAY INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED.

  • · Onboarding/Offboarding internal users
  • · Help maintain internal equipment inventory
  • · End user support with applications/hardware configurations
  • · Imaging Laptops utilizing the Microsoft Toolset
  • Troubleshooting of basic network topologies (Small Office)
  • Perform minor patches to endpoints/servers
  • Troubleshoot issues with backup systems
  • Act according to all NSOC procedures and processes.
  • Work within our ITSM platform to properly assign tickets
  • Understand the lifecycle of a ticket according to ITILv4 standards
  • Package and prepare equipment for shipping
  • Client visits to assist engineering staff
  • Perform MACDs(Move, Add, Change, Delete) in various systems

  • Handle calls from our clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist NOC staff with troubleshooting both internal client facing issues
  • Update or create documentation on NOC processes
  • Maintain a timesheet tracking activities performed within our ITSM platform with detailed notes


Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma
  • 6+ months experience working with and understanding of basic networking, routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless devices. (or equivalent studies)
  • Experience using the Windows operating system (8, 10, 11)
  • Proficient using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
