Familiarity with coding software, such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems, as well as electronic health record (EHR) platforms, is typically required. Attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to maintain confidentiality are crucial soft skills for success in this role. These codes are essential for billing, insurance claims, and maintaining accurate patient records.
