Job description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Manufacturing Engineer Intern will assist the manufacturing engineering department in developing and improving manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create standard data for various manufacturing operations using time study.
  • Create budget data sheet using standard data for project bidding.
  • Suggest process improvements to eliminate waste in production system.
  • Suggest changes to improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Create Capstone Project

JOB SKILLS:

  • Ability to perform assigned tasks and complete work on schedule with minimal supervision.
  • Eagerness to learn and accept challenges.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • AutoCAD or any design software skills preferable.

ย EDUCATION & TRAINING:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Position is at least 50% to 60% at a desk working with computer. Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.ย  Performs other physical activities including use of fingers, sitting, stooping, bending, crouching, talking, hearing and performing repetitive motions.ย  Visual acuity requirements include color, depth perception and field of vision necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer terminal and conduct extensive reading.ย  The incumbent will be subject to inside environmental conditions.
