Intern Life Drawing Model information

How to get into life drawing modelling?

To become a life drawing model, you should have a good understanding of anatomy, maintain a professional attitude, and be comfortable posing for extended periods. Building a portfolio or attending open casting calls can help you find modeling opportunities at art schools, studios, or workshops. Some models also complete training or workshops to improve posing skills and learn about studio etiquette.

How much does being an art model pay?

Intern life drawing models typically earn between $15 and $50 per hour, depending on the location, experience, and the organization. Pay rates can vary based on whether the model is working for a school, studio, or private client, and some positions may offer flat session fees rather than hourly rates.

As an Intern Life Drawing Model, you can expect to pose for artists or art students in a studio or classroom setting, often holding various poses for short or extended periods. Sessions usually involve a mix of quick gesture poses and longer, sustained poses to help participants practice different drawing techniques. You’ll work with instructors and artists to ensure poses are appropriate and comfortable, and breaks are scheduled regularly to prevent fatigue. Collaboration, punctuality, and clear communication with the session organizer are important for a smooth experience.
